While being well prepared is a good thing, it doesn't hurt to hear the same thing that everyone else hears. Sometimes just the way it's said will make someone go "ahhh, now it makes sense." I even listen to the Flight attendants do their monotonous safety briefing every time I fly. I'm just weird that way.

Gee, I thought it was still a good thing to be prepared. Looks like some
Rangers need to be a bit more flexible and be alert enough to tailor their
training (or review) to fit the particular crew. Their job is to be sure that crews
do things the current Philmont way for health and safety and the preservation
of the Ranch. Their own Ranger training should point out to them that there
are often crews who may actually come to Philmont well-trained and prepared -
perhaps partly as a result of members or advisors participating in this
discussion list....................
