Re: [Philmont]: 4 MAN TENTS

Terry,

Our crew uses Eureka Mountain Pass 4XT tents for the same reasons. They are
comfortable, and they are a reasonable on wieght when split between the kids
using them. We used them at Philmont with no issues. However, we spent most
of our time in the Central and South country. There may be an issue with room
in some of the Northern or Valle camps.

We just noticed a note in the book that says you can only bring 2 man tents
to Philmont. We have Kelty Gunnison 4's, which fit 4 large teenage boys rather
well. Do they really care and what's the story? I understand about not using
bivy sacks but what kind of backpacking tents we use seems a little over the
top.
