We used the Timberline 4-XL's....and used them as 2 man.....would I do it
again....yes!

We have 2 scouts that used the Phil supplied tents and they wished they had
ours.

More room and well worth the extra weight.

We also have the EXO "backpacking" tents but still prefer the XL's.

Just one more opinion....use what's your crew is comfortable and familiar
with.
