RE: [Philmont]: photocopies of medical forms

I was on the phone with Fran yesterday about the medical forms. One or our crew parents lost the original Philmont form, and rather than asking me (the crew advisor) for a new copy, they called Fran and asked her to fax the form to their doctor. The parent then turned in the faxed form to me for crew records. Having seen frequent references to Philmonts original on their original form only policy many times, I called to verify that this youth would have no problem with the fax. Fran stated that he could use the fax form no problem.

So, I guess the Ranch does make occasional exceptions to the original form only policy. Now, why didn't that parent just ask me for a new form?

Anyway, we also got our crew aluminum water bottles (engraved with troop/trek info), crew carabiners (again, engraved with troop/trek info, both came out looking awesome) and had already received our crew t-shirts. All of the above will make for a nice little package for our ranger! Not to mention the boys in the crew.

I got the staffed camp patches for our itinerary and made a nice display with them. I'll add the carabiners for a little extra to the display. All of the above really look great! I'm so impressed with myself :-) We have all our gear, we are going on another prep mem day weekend, we have our train tickets, we have another prep in July. We are almost ready! I can't wait.
