It's usually used as a building material -- generically called
"housewrap." It's a spun plastic cloth used as a vapor barrier tacked
onto the studs before the siding is added. You can find it or a
similar product from other companies at practically any good home
center or building supplies store. It's sold in great big rolls, so
asking a builder for scraps is probably a more cost-effective solution
than buying a roll.
