[Philmont]: Water sources

As we've been researching water sources on the trek we'll be taking this summer (Trek 4), I've been seeing springs, spigots, wells and streams. Assuming the spring and stream water will require treatment, do we need to treat the well or spigot water, too?

I also see at Webster Parks Camp they have water "tanks". Are these the military-type "water buffalos", the glorified tanker trailer?
