Pete-you will probably hear this from many listers, but always plan to
treat ALL water (creek, spigot, spring, well, cattle tank, etc.). The only
time you don't have to treat water is when staff (not another trek'r, but
STAFF only) tells you the water is safe to drink without treating.... In
2002, we had to treat "spigot" water in several staff camps because of
issues with their solar-powered treatment system. YIS. Mike (76, '02 &

As we've been researching water sources on the trek we'll be taking this
summer (Trek 4), I've been seeing springs, spigots, wells and streams.
Assuming the spring and stream water will require treatment, do we need to
treat the well or spigot water, too?
I also see at Webster Parks Camp they have water "tanks". Are these the
military-type "water buffalos", the glorified tanker trailer?
