Pete,
You really need to figure that all water needs to be treated unless the
staff at a camp explicitly tells you that you don't need to. With that,
most of the spigots are in staffed camps and do not require purification.
Always ask to make sure.
I would count Webster Parks as a "dry" camp, as the "tanks" are old and
weren't in use in 2003 (the last time I was there). You can bring water up
from Cimarroncito and then refill when you pass through the Hunting Lodge
the next day, so there are sources nearby. We cooked our dinner at 'Cito so
we had less water to carry up to Websters.

Subject: [Philmont]: Water sources
As we've been researching water sources on the trek we'll be taking this
summer (Trek 4), I've been seeing springs, spigots, wells and streams.
Assuming the spring and stream water will require treatment, do we need to
treat the well or spigot water, too?
I also see at Webster Parks Camp they have water "tanks". Are these the
military-type "water buffalos", the glorified tanker trailer?
