Brian-I am very interested, we have a long canoe trip planned for next year
with the crew and this sounds like it might be a great fundraiser for the
spring. Do you guys flyer the neighborhoods, or is everything sold to
troop families and neighbors? About how many offers do you get to have the
mulch spread out by the Scouts (at $2.50 per bag)?
I would hazard that our wholesale cost would be higher as it is a lot
longer delivery drive to Colorado than to Florida, around here we get more
cedar mulch, so I might have to change suppliers. I know that cedar mulch
is $3.65 at KMart (the cheapest place) so if we can compete with that
price?? Thanks! YIS. Mike.

We sell bagged mulch. We've averaged 4500 bags/year sold over the last 5
years. 1st year 1650 were sold.
We sell over a 3 week period....order the mulch and they are delivered
within 2 weeks. 95% of all deliveries are completed on a Saturday.
>From experience we know to over order....this year we had orders in hand
for 3200, we ordered 3 truck loads (4950 bags, 1650 bags/truck, 75
bags/pallet, 22 pallets/truck)
2 cu ft bags of Cyprus mulch (The mulch supplier is in FL.)
Troop's cost $1.83/bag Sell Price $3.25/bag.
You can decide how to split the $1.41/bag. We credit the selling scout
$0.75/bag. The Troop as a whole delivers the mulch. Another local Troop
gave 100% to the scouts to pay for a HA trip.
If you are interested, let me know.
Hope this helps.
