[philmont] Steripen

I recently purchased a Steripen Adventurer/Traveler. They are identical except for the color. Have used the Steripen on two Philmont prep hikes. They work fine. A few comments:

1. I did not use the lithium batteries which came with the Steripen, but purchased Lithium 123 batteries on the web from Surefire.com. Apparently there have been problems with some of the rechargable 123 lithiums. Surefire sells a box of 12 at a good price.

2. The Adventurer/Traveler is very light- under 4 ounces, takes about 90 seconds to do the job on 1 liter.

3. It requires a container with a neck large opening as there are 2 contacts which have to be underwater for the Steripen to work. Gatorade bottles have too small a neck, so I got a nalgene cantene, which is soft sided, light, and works well. You have to stir the water with the Steripen so all the water is treated.

This is my first post in a LONG while, I hope I am doing it correctly
