The nice part about it is that you will know before you leave basecamp
whether your dining fly (and tents too for that matter)already has the
ropes attached - you will be checking your dining fly and tents when
they are issued right? If you bring your own fly and/or tents its a
slam dunk. As others have mentioned, there are numerous uses for the
light weight cord. Something like Trip-Tease or similar will also work
in most instances, plus it is reflective. That can be a big help when
walking through the woods at night.
