1993 was probably the old green model, not the newer blue ones (which are not so new anymore, I slept in a retired one last weekend marked 1997). There was a green one set up next to it - a foot shorter in height, half a foot shorter in length. I'm six feet and can sit up in the blue model, with a little room to spare.

The Philtents vs. your own tents debate is annual. At the end of the day, the crew needs to weigh the pros and cons of both (pretty well laid out in this thread) and make a decision. Either would be the "right" choice - the fact another crew decides opposite does not make them wrong.
