[philmont] Buros at Philmont ??

Well, since Nephew hasn't been to Philmont yet, I can't share any funny stories about the burros there.
However, I can share a Philmont/Burro related tale. Last month the council contingent had their first meeting for the 2008 trip. Nephew & another boy from his troop were there w/ their SM (who will be going on their Phil trip). There was discussion about doing the burros and burro racing but Nephew and Friend didn't get why this was so exciting. Well a few days later while they were working w/ SM on a merit badge the topic came up again. Friend said he didn't know what a burro was. Nephew pipes up "Its the garden thing w/ 2 legs and 1 wheel that you carry like this" (insert wheelbarrow demonstration here). You could see the light go on for the SM - "OH, that explains why you guys weren't excited about burro racing".

Okay - so maybe you had to be there....I thought it was funny.
