Am I the only one that isn't totally happy with the switchback pants??
No, Kevin, you aren't, but it would appear you are in the minority. The
complaints
I've seen for the switchbacks include:
1) can't change the length (not true, can take a pleat just below the
zipper)
2) When zipped off, the shorts are too long (Never heard that from a youth,
though)
3) Too light weight for cooler weather (well, I suppose you could say the
old trousers were too heavy for warm weather)
4) too easy to lose the legs (well, they're zipoffs, what did you expect)
5) Not dressy enough for formal wear (like the prior trousers were?)
6) and a new one from you, too baggy (doubt I'd hear that from a youth
either).
So, are the switchbacks perfect? Well, I don't think there is such a thing
as the perfect trouser.
Are they a *HUGE* improvement over the trousers and shorts previously
offered by the BSA?
You betcha. I'm not sure this is precisely on topic for Philmont, though.
