Good to hear from you, Jim. Good to hear about the green! Turns out that I'll see y'all in about six weeks. (Nice of Michigan State University to work out their course schedule just so I could get back out to the Activities Department again this summer... :) ) Tell Steve Willis I say "hi."

I would be careful using purell rather than soap and water. Some studies have shown that Purell does a great job of disinfecting the first layer of dirt…..which is washed off during food preparation exposing the next layer of “up all night sick” stuff.
I think we are hoping all crew members will use soap and water, and that the cooks will ALSO use the Purell.
By the by my Phil-Phriends. I set feet on Philmont yesterday, along with the other managers for Services, Activities, Logistics, News and Photo, Security, Ranger Coordinators, and Conservation Leadership. The rest of the seasonal staff will be trickling in over the next couple of weeks.
Philmont is GREEN, thanks to abundant snow and rain which is falling a bit each day. Linda Anderson said they had snow several feet over the loading dock behind the Post Office (now the Mail Room).
Lots of construction around Logistics and Camping Headquarters over the off season.
See you at the Ranch
