Be gentle? That is great info! Lotramin just got added to the Crew
first aid and Troop kit!

I'm half afraid to post a note for fear of the responses, but here goes.
Several years ago I came home from a trek with a terrible and unbearable
rash in my groin, powders and ointments gave no relief. I was dying. I
went to the doc and was advised that I didn't have a rash, I had a
yeast infection. I didn't even know that men could get yeast infections
in the groin area. The doc, an Eagle Scout and Scouter advised me that
in his opinion almost all trail rashes were actually yeast infections
that were aggravated by the trail conditions: people who were hot,
sweaty and not able to wash, dry or cool the affected area. He said that
most men don't know they can get yeast infections. He prescribed a
prescription strength antifungal and told me to start carrying Lotramin
on the trail.
Today I always have Lotramin in my personal first aid kit, the crew
first aid kit and I make my Scouts carry a small tube in their personal
first aid kits. As soon as a boy complains or I see the "crab walk"
begin they have to step into the trees and apply the Lotramin. Once a
boy does it once and gets instant and lasting relief he doesn't have to
be told again.
Anyway, there it is for what it's worth. Be gentle when you respond back
and tear me up.
