[philmont] overweight scout

I just had a scout email me that he had his physical and he is 12 lbs
over, and his doctor approves of his participating. I know that it is
best to contact Philmont ahead of time for this.

Should I call Philmont (I'm the lead advisor)?
Should the Scout call?
Should his parents call?

We backpacked Grand Canyon this Spring as a conditioning camp, and he
beat both advisors out of the canyon (from Tonto level up Grandview
trail to the South rim) with full backpacks (had to carry enough water
to make it to the rim - there were no reliable water sources on the way).

Any other advice for helping Philmont feel comfortable that he is fit
and will enjoy the trek without being a burden?

Thanks,
Dave Smith
