[philmont] Practice Hike Database - PhilSearch's Little Broither

About a year ago the Chester County Council High Adventure Committee had a
vision to create a searchable resource for High Adventure Trips in and
around our council. One type of trip we were especially interested in were
those that our PSR bound crews could take as shakedown or prep hikes, The
resource was created 11 months ago as http://www.ccchighadventure.org/ and
has a modest collection of trips today for a variety of purposes. It became
obvious to us then that trips that were good for CCC crews were also good
for crews in adjoining councils as they were located outside the bounderies
of our council. In response the resource was expended so that anyone can
contribute a trip and that anyone can comment after taking a trip. This
time of year seems to be when we should solicit for additions, many crews
have recently taken, or will soon take trips that could be contributed and
could serve as a resource for future crews.

So, in the spirit of scouting, I ask that you consider taking a little time
and add your favorite trip. I plan to link the two sites (PhilSearch &
CCCHighAdventure) together in some way in the off season so that Philmont
specific training trips can be accessed directly from PhilSearch.

Thanks for your continued support of the PhilSearch Project, few realize it
is only three seasons old, and your anticipated support of this new effort.

As is always the case, PhilSearch needs Photos. Specific needs are
accessible from the Phot Album page. I have a small backlog of photos that
fill some of these gaps, but more is better :-). Please include the
Photographers name, location where the photo was taken, Troop # (including
city & state), trek #, expedition number and year so I can include proper
photo credit.
