[philmont] To Croc or not to Croc

And, Michael, are you also carrying a backboard pack with an unpadded waistbelt?  Technology sometimes changes things for the better.  I'm not walking in the park, and I am carrying my crocs (but John, I am taking an external frame pack).  There is no reason for me to carry the extra weight of my old camp shoes when I can carry a tough and comfy and lighter weight pair of crocs.

First off, a trek to Philmont is not a walk in the Park.

It is a Trek which requires preparation and team work.

second, I have waited too long to chime in on the footware diatribe.

All one needs are good, sturdy hiking boots, well-broken in and a pair
of comfy sneaker or boat shoes for the campsite.

Crocs or Jello shoes or sandals or whatever fad footwear is popular
should be
left at home with other modern-day trinkets to not ruin the TRUE
PHILMONT
EXPERIENCE.

IMHO & two cents....
