A few pack questions.
a. Last year in the discussion on packs there was mention of an internal
frame pack that could be ordered with a small, medium or large belt. Most
13-14 year olds that a beginning to backpack need a pack with plenty of
volume and a small belt. Which manufacturer(s) have a belt size option?
b. A young Scout that weighs about 90-100 lbs is limited in the amount of
weight he should carry. A 6 or 7 pound pack is a substantial percentage of
that amount. Are there some 3-4 pound packs out there that can carry up to
35 pounds with enough volume for Philmont gear and 4 days of great Phood and
Gatoraide?
c. One or two manufacturers that were very scout friendly were also
mentioned. Which are the Scout friendly guys?
Since the troops with 2003 treks are beginning to gear up, this would be an
interesting topic for the list.
