I recommend the Polar Pure. Back in July 1999 our crew of 12 used the Polar Pure and it worked fine (much less work than filtering when you have a large crew) and the scouts learned something from the experience. Your Ranger will teach everyone in the crew the proper Polar Pure technique and you should have no problems if you follow his/her directions. My water bottles still have a trace of the iodine smell (don't mix smelly drinks in your water bottles or they must go up in the bear bag) and I enjoy the memories it gives. I've also used Polar Pure since that time on other backpacking adventures but usually use a Sweetwater Filter with smaller groups. HAVE FUN either way you go !!
