We had three stoves last summer, 2 Coleman which used iso-butane and 1
Coleman Peaks. We used the iso-butane stoves and carried the peak as a back
up. We took 5 canisters, and had two full canisters when we came off the
trail.
Philmont's mail room does not have a hazardous fuel shipping license, and
would not ship the fuel home for us. I left the full canisters in the
advisor's building.
I was surprised haw little fuel we used. Most of the food was heat water -
add food - let sit 5 minutes.
