Next year, we'll have a couple of crews for Kanik during Spring Break in
March. One from our troop and another from our venturing crew. So far,
we have 16 people signed up. None of them have participated in Kanik but
several have participated in the backpacking and cavalcade programs.
For reports on our Kanik trips in 2000 and 2002, see:
2000 http://www.troop405.org/camps/Kanik.htm
2002 http://www.lns.cornell.edu/~seb/philmont-kanik2002.html
I'm looking for an excuse to get back to Philmont in 2004. I'm not
planning on doing Kanik but I'm going to have serious withdrawal trouble
if I don't find a way to get back since my wife and I have managed at
least one Philmont trip of some sort each year since 1995, with the
exception of '97. Maybe we'll work in an Autumn Adventure or a week at
the PTC.
