Since my Philmont adventure us over and I'm moving on to other things
that are filling up my in-box, I will leave this group in a couple days.
But I couldn't do that without expressing my gratitude to Rich for
starting it and moderating it, and to everyone else who answered my
questions, provided advice, invited us to training and looked us up at
Philmont. As those of you who've been on the list may remember, it was
my first trip and the first for the troop in seven years.
There's so much knowledge and experience in the group, but even more so
such a strong desire to make sure everyone has the best Philmont
experience possible. Perhaps I'll be back on the list in a few years
when my middle son is old enough to go, or my youngest (now age 6).
Thanks everyone - there are just too many to name.
And to those of you who will go for the first time next year, ask these
folks everything you can think of. I guarantee someone will have the
answer. (Also, seriously consider choosing a trek in the north and Valle
Vidal - it's awesome.)
