There are some new ultra light weight packs that are really a good
suspension system and a big bag. Weigh-in at about 3 lbs.

So where do you find a 3 pound pack that will do Philmont duty? It
would need about 4500 cu. in. and carry about 35-40 pounds.

I am more than willing to leave my 6 pounder at home. Thirty-five
