[Philmont]: RE: Backpacks

Apparently Philmont will rent external framed packs. I have 2 adults that

Condition? Size? Comfort? I would think that if they are available at
Philmont, they would be big enough, and in 10 day usage condition, but don't

Two adults and one scout from our crews rented Philmont backpacks (Kelty
Tiogas or Trekkers? I didn't really pay attention to the model). They were
in good condition, and a good choice for someone who does not want to buy a
new one. If they don't have their own (presumably smaller) at home, they
will have to borrow one for shakedowns and their own personal training -
doing so without a pack on your back (at least a couple times a week) is not
adequate preparation.
