You will get lots of great advice from this list from experienced Philmont
trekkers. We have tried to put that advice along with that from Philmont
rangers into a single document entitled the Philmont Advisor's Guide. This
unofficial 84 page publication is updated each year based on the past summer
experience. The questions you asked in your original e-mail as well as ones
your probably had not thought about yet are in the Guide. It is available
as a MS Word email attachment for a $10 donation to Venturing Crew 1519.
