We did a trek in August and it was a first time experience for all involved.
Recommend a sleelping bag around 30 degrees. Some of us took Cat's Meows and
they worked real well. Light and warm when needed. We used Frogg Toggs as rain
gear and they worked well, very light, breathable and water proof. They served
as the pants for horseback riding some of the boys. Would recommend a pair of
zip off pants though for lodge pole climbing. Used the large 2 1/2 gal.
ziplocs for extra clothing storage, first aid kit and had no problems with them.
Took a digital camera Fuji A302 which worked well and uses double a batteries.
Good place to check out gear is www.alpmountaineering.com and they have a scout
discount program. Through diligent planning the heaviest pack a scout left
base camp with was 36 lbs. and adult was 43 lbs.

Good luck and keep asking questions as this is a great list of knowledge. We
have a journal and pictures of our trip on our website if you want to review
it.
