The ULA P-2, cited earlier, look promising. Here's why I say that:

Last year my Philmont "hit the trail" weight was 32 lbs, including 2 liters
of water, my share of food and crew gear. Personal gear matched Philmont's
list on almost all items -- most gear was chosen for light weight (not
cheapest but not cost-is-no-object fanatical either).

My pack was a extremely comfortable Gregory Reality. The Reality is 4350 cu
in. This was adequate capacity (all gear fits inside the pack). The Reality
normally weights 5 lb 3 oz (med size) but I've stripped mine down to 4.7 lbs
to reduce weight.

Prior to the trek I played around quite a bit with the GVP G4,
http://www.gvpgear.com/products.asp as well as a Dana Designs adventure
racing frame. Bottom line, there was sufficient capacity for gear but they
were very uncomfortable.

The ULA P-2 boasts about its full suspension, inc. framesheet, stay and
backpanel. Looks like it could be comfy yet significantly lighter. Even
adding the lid for add'l capacity and a couple of other goodies only brings
it up to about 2 lb 10 oz.

If anyone has experience with this pack pls post :)
