A couple of years ago, one of the participants on this list mentioned that
he asked a home builder who was happy to give him all he needed from his
scrap pile. Obviously if it's not used in your area, this wouldn't work,
but if some stores are selling it, it must be in use somewhere.

Can someone tell me where to get small quantities of Tyvek on the web?
It isn't used here in So. Cal, so the hardware store chains don't sell
it (Lowes, Ace, HD), though it is sold for full rolls at some independent
hardware stores here. I looked for it on the web, found the manufacturer
site, but it just says to get it from HD or Lowes. The local chains can't
even
special order it. I don't want to pop for a 100 yard roll, so can someone
give me a pointer?
