Wow - that's no deal - unless you get a lot more equipment than at Northern
Tier - their 7 day trip, including interpreter is $308/person - $44/day and
if you're willing to take a trip at the beginning of the season, they'll
give you 10% off.

>From what I've heard, Tahosa is an amazing program. I know the program
director in Denver and have spoken to people who've gone through his program
and am very impressed.
A similar program (that I used to be involved in, but haven't been since I
transferred at work) is Scouts Canada's Impeesa Extreme program - which is
high altitude backpacking and other adventures (caving, rock climbing,
mountain biking and fly fishing). You can find more information at:
www.chinook.scouts.ca/impeesa-x/
They also have a horseback riding program in the Rockies called Timber
Trails that is real riding with a guide - the Scouts learn how to saddle and
take care of the horse and a little bit about the local landscape and
history - oh, and from the pictures I've seen, they ride some of the most
beautiful territory out there:

You can contact Scouts Canada's Lethbridge, Alberta office for more
information - 403-327-4647 from 8:30am - 6:00pm Mountain time.
For those of you who know me, I'm now serving Vancouver Island, off the west
coast of Canada (a quick ferry ride to Seattle) and am in the process of
building a business plan for the next Canadian High Adventure program.
We'll see where it goes.
Cheers
Mike
