We have used Blue Sky and have had a great experience! It is run by
Scouters, so they know what the boys like, and run things the Philmont way
from the time they pick you up. They operate primarily from Albequrque,
which we prefer to going through Colorado. There are great things to do,
visit the nuclear museum, ride the tram to the top of Sandilia Peak, visit
Old Town Albequrque and Santa Fe. You head to Taos area for the Taos Pueblo,
raft the Rio, possibly bike in the Rio Grand Gorge. The side trip to
Bandolier is great and you get to see real cliff dwellings. The hotel is
clean and the breakfast food excellent, and all the dinners at "all you can
eat" places.
While the Colorado side is also nice, it is a lot more crowded with Scouts
coming and going to Philmont. To each ther own, but we like New Mexico.
