None taken, but I think this thread is dead.

I'm hearing lots of self-righteousness, defensiveness,
and self-flagellation. But nothing about how to train my crew.

Sigh.

Okay, I'll play along. Probably shouldn't, but...

None taken, but I'm hearing lots of presumption, and arrogance.

Wow. "Self-flagellation". Good one.

If you, and I mean the universal "you", meaning "all of us here", don't
think the soft stuff is relevant to training your crew, then you aren't
paying attention to the voices that share their ideas and experience
here. "The soft stuff is the hard stuff" and the easiest to overlook
and the most potentially damaging to a crew's experience, in any setting
but especially in the prolonged trek environment at Philmont, NT, HH,
etc.

There are NUMEROUS forums to find specific, functional, technical
information. Sounds like you need to skip threads like this and leave
this topic to others. This site, and the opinions and philosophies of
the many wise people who visit it, have been invaluable to me, in
preparation for and between my high adventure experiences.

Now, excuse me, I'll go back to flaying myself. Ouch.

;^/

(Cause if I put the JK winky thing at the end it makes everything I said
in the message "Okay", sort of "no offense", right? Or is that being
"defensive" too? Wow, I'm screwing up by the numbers here, aren't I?)
