...unless your boots are from a full-satisfaction establishment like REI or
LL Bean. My Bean boots (gore-tex Vasque leather model) took two tries to get
the size right, and the first pair had a year of hard wear on them before I
finally figured out why boots that were well-broken in and felt comfortable
were giving me blisters, but only on the longest hikes. Bean exchanged 'em
without a whimper.
