are permits for groups to hike in the National Forest required in the
EAST???
In almost any national forest around here, we're required to get a permit
from the Nat forest service or National Parks for a backpack trek. It is at
that time that group size limits, and info about other restrictions and
rules are handed out. (BEAR safety and food storage info in a BIG deal too)
