Dean
I tried, without success, to attach the speadsheet we used for this
purpose in '04 but the messages kept getting rejected, so I've posted it at
the URL below.
The spreadsheet , below, we used for 2004, and will likely use again for
'06. Haven't checked to make sure all the categories match up for 2006 yet
... its still a bit early. Some categories are combined (i.e. Phillips
Lodges). It also allows for a trek difficulty preference (T,R,S,SS) and a
Terrain preference.
We used the tally to get a sense of where the crew was at, for us it
quickly boiled down to four or five activities that had a form of consensus.
We then used those items at www.danyoder.com to find the matching treks.
Good luck, YIS

Subject: [Philmont]: Philmont Program Planning
I am looking for tools to help our crew choose our trek. I have the
2003 Philmont Guidebook to adventure for reference but would like to email
the crew the possible Programs they can choose from.
Does anyone have a list of the Programs and the Program Features written
out like the guide?
I plan on having the crew rank order their Program preferences and then
find the top choices and make a best fit with last years Trek itineraries.
Does anyone have an Excel file that can help grade responses and compare
then to the Treks for best fit?
