Our crew used the philtents in 03. Worked great. I thought they were
roomy. We had no problems as we found them very durable. We traveled by air
and it also helped from that aspect. They just take quite a few stakes. I
think we carried 14 per tent. The scouts lost several. We also took our
ground cloths and cut at Philmont to fit.
I am glad someone else had the experience of carrying a canvas overnighter.
I remember they did not have a floor and still around 10lbs with single
pole. I also remember cooking over an open fire and scrounging for firewood.
Any other favorites out there that folks would recommend for our trek?
