About the only problem our crew had with Philtents in 2006 was when one
of the tent groups lost the little plastic gizmo that holds the front
two poles together (Philmont has a catchy name for it but I forget). We
lashed the poles together until we were able to get a replacement for it
at Baldy Commissary (interesting conversation on that - ask if you want
details). The other problem was drying them when we got back to
basecamp. We had to pack up while they were wet, the campsite was
rather muddy, and it was raining when we returned. This slowed the
process quite a bit. Other than that, they worked fine. I used my own
tent, since I was "odd man" in the crew.
Happy Trails,
Roy Fisher
