While I don't know the figures last year, for the past several it has been
running that 85% or better of all crews get their first or second choice,
with 65%-70% getting their first choice.

Which really isn't surprising. A crew is "competing" only with the 30 or so
others arriving the same day they do, with 70 available treks (35 routes
with up to two crews each).

And in stark contrast to those who obsess about a "next day" response, when
I was talking with the folks in Logistics in early July, there were still 28
crews coming who had not returned their Trek Selection cards. I would not
be surprised to hear when they showed up that they did not get their first
or second choice...
