Hello,
Below is a message about Ely-Bloomenson Community Hospital located in
Ely, MN. The hospital is one of approximately 80 rural general
hospitals vying to win a Siemens MRI.
The hospital provides care to the many visitors who come to see our
diamond in the north, the Boundary Waters and Quetico wilderness.
Appropriately, it is the home of the Northern Tier National High
Adventure base 'Charles L. Sommers' that delivers wilderness
adventure to thousands of Scouts each year.
I encourage you to watch Ely Hospital's video and vote daily. Some
day this might have a HUGE impact on a Scout.

> Recently, Doug Hirdler, General Manager of the Northern Tier High
> Adventure Program, advised Canoe List users of an ongoing contest
> sponsored by Siemens to give away a free MRI unit to one of
> approximately 80, generally rural, hospitals in the U.S. The
> Ely-Bloomenson Community Hospital in Ely, MN is one of those hospitals
> vying for the free MRI. Since 1950, the Ely-Bloomenson Community
> Hospital has stitched-up, removed fishing hooks, cast broken limbs and
> otherwise treated injured canoeists, including Scouts, Explorers,
> Venturers and adult leaders who went through the Northern Tier program
> in Ely or who were privately outfitted.
