Well that was a bit of an odd e-mail for the list wasn't it? I suspect that
Christine may be subscribed and that her workplace e-mail rules may have
mishandled Gary's message.
Good opportunity to let all know that if you are going to be gone from the
list over the holidays, you can set the list to "no mail" at
http://usscouts.org/lists/lc.asp. This prevents an automated response going
to the list telling the world that you are on vacation. Usually it is a
good practice to set any subscribed lists to no mail before engaging an out
of office message. This may give your family piece of mind too. They'll
know that you aren't broadcasting to the world that your house is empty.
Not likely a problem on a Scouting list, but on commercial lists it could
open your house up to burglary.
