That's really great, Don! Now I'm glad that I sent you all of the info last
week.
One of the things that we've done in the last several years is to let the
Scouts and Adults apply commissions received from selling advertising in our
Scout Expo calendar/program. It's turned into quite lot of money at times.
Also, we've cleaned up after the horses at the Rose Parade, but that's a
sh***y job <grin>.. There's another troop near here that earns a great deal
of money by assisting with car parking for parade-goers.
I'd imagine down your way that there are similar opportunities that you
haven't yet thought of.
This year we're planning to raise some of our money by selling our crew
t-shirts. As long as you don't use the Philmont logo, this is acceptable.
Good luck!

Subject: [Philmont]: We got in!
I took the advice I received on the mailing list, got a bunch of people in
the troop to call, and we got a slot! First time in about six years. We
got in at 8:35, so it took a lot of redialing, and we got our first choice
date, too. Now we just have to figure out how to pay for it. Anyone want
to start a topic on how you raise money for a PhilTrek?
Regards
