The list software we have does not have the capability of stripping off read
receipt requests, if these are generated by Outlook or other e-mail clients.
If the sender has enabled the option of requesting read receipts, many of
the recipients will generate receipts automatically, unless they have
elected to be prompted before sending. If you have requested read receipts
(through settings in your e-mail client), then you will get them for most
people on lists. If you are using outlook, you can click on "View" and then
on "Options" to uncheck the "Request a read request for this message"
feature. Conversely, you could set Outlook not to request reciepts and then
use the same procedure to check the box when you need a receipt.
