Turns out the drive is longer than I thought. 20 hours, not 13.

I don't know what the drivers license issues would be in Colorado and NM,
but none of the advisors for our trek has an appropriate license as
California drivers. How do you deal with licensing, or does your state have
no restrictions? I would think your state rules for your DL would apply to
what you drive in Colo. and NM. For Calif, I believe we would have to have
what we call a Class A, rather than the standard Class C that most of us
have. I'm not sure if a large van would fall under the limit, I think the
limit has something to do with axles, though.
 
I'm starting to dislike a driving option, but train still sounds better than
flying.
