RE: [Philmont]: Selecting Itineraries

Congratulations Don:

In March you will be sent information that describes all the itineraries
and programs, plus a card that asks you to select your top five choices.
There are dozens of activities and programs available that are offered in
multiple itineraries. We use a system where we have each participant (or
each youth participant in some crews) to select the top five things they
want to do at Philmont, then we add them up and find the itineraries that
offer the most of them

The sooner you return the postcard (no faxes or e-mails are accepted) the
greater your chance of getting your first choice. Most of our contingent
crews get their first or second choices.

One caution, there are sites available to review the 2001 Itineraries, but
they do change some each year, so take the time to look at the 2002 choices
to see how they compare. I imagine someone will post the new itineraries
here as soon as they become available.

Subject: [Philmont]: Selecting Itineraries

One of the questions I've been asked but unable to answer, what say do we
have in our itinerary? Now we've got a slot, will we be able to choose
any,
or are we left with what is available on our start date? How does this
portion of the process work?
