I've never gone with the council, but our troop is planning their second
trek for 2003, and the adults are expected to cover their own expenses. I
think it's the same way with the council (Indianhead in Minnesota) but I'm
guessing. I know there are some troops in the area that pay the advisor
fees as the advisors have to take so much vacation. Personally I don't
agree with that (if you want opinions too!) There are 4 members of my
family going in 2003 and we're each paying every penny. Worth it in every
respect! As a wise Scoutmaster once said, volunteers give their time.
Scouters give their time and pay to do it! I've never regretted a minute,
or a dollar spent!
