A very good point. When I was a scout we used to split (by hand) and sell
firewood to raise money for high adventure trips. That partially funded
Philmont and 2 trips to Maine. It also taught a bit about working to earn a
reward, rather than just having it handed to you. Hey, 30 years later I
remember how I got to go to great camps. I doubt most of our youth will
have the same memory.
