It depends on your unit policies & whether they are short-sighted or view
the bigger picture of scouting involvement. Any high adventure funds in our
unit can be applied to any BSA high adventure activity. Room is added into
this equation for some of the other adult involvements beyond the unit level
to use the funds for as well. Such as advanced trainings like Powder Horn,
PTC, or Wood Badge. This is not restricted to a unit crew at Philmont but
individuals who may participate in a contingent. All it takes is some
creative thinking in how scouting activities can be supported for all.
