Greetings All,
Pardon the cross posting...
Our troop is reviving a dormant backpacking program this year. As of
now, the troop doesn't have any backpacking equipment therefore we are
gearing up from the ground up. I would like to get input on the tents
and stoves of choice for other units out there. We have had first hand
experience with the Eureka Apex 2XT and the REI Half Dome. The scouts
preferred the Eureka over the REI. As far as the stoves are concerned,
the MSR Superfly is the direction I am leaning due to not only the
versatility of the fuel that can be used but also the safety issues with
lighting some of the other that must be primed and pumped.
What backpacking tents do your units use and what do you feel are the
pro's and con's of your tents? Thanks in advance.
YiS,
