Our high adventure crew is just now getting actual crew gear -- boys bought
their own in the past. Both of my boys bought Kelty Zen tents last year and
love them. Although a little heavier than some of the 2-man tents (just
over 5 pounds) they are easy to set up, have lots of room at the shoulders,
are end opening for easy access and there is a lot of space at the front
end between the rain fly and tent itself to store boots etc. They are quite
compact when rolled up and bagged, and the pole sections are short enough
to fit nicely across the bottom of the pack. The best part was Kelty
re-designed them and they were able to get the 'old style' for about $60,
less than half price! They've been used a lot and have held up well.
